It’s June 1st and we have 250 registrations already. Due to some troubles with paypal however, we have decided to extend the $350 registration fee period to the end of our registration period. So no worries, register your team soon and don’t get shut out.
Wow, 250 Teams and Counting
June 1st, 2010Registration Is Open
May 4th, 2010Hi everyone,
We made some improvements to our website and tournament. I hope you like them.
We’ll start with our new website. Yep, its new and updated. We’ve added this blog and a forum to the site to make communications with you a bit easier. I hope you find these helpful. We also improved our registration process. Of course, we like to keep things simple, so just register and pay for your bid. Don’t expect anything fancy like a personal thank your letter. If you registered and paid, you can be sure that we have your information, either from our own registration or through your paypal payment. No payment, means not bid. Just keeping it simple.
Based on feedback from our players, this year we created some new divisions. We have players in high school to players getting close to retirement (can you believe it?). Last year we tested out a Juniors division. We had some teams come and we ran a one day tournament for them. This year we introduce a College Division and A Masters division. Both of these divisions will run as 3/1, unless there is a demand for 2/2. As always, we have some really competitive folks, who give usĀ great games to watch in the finals, so this year we will have an Open Division. This division is not entirely new, you’ve seen it as Elite in the past couple of years. We will continue to have the Beer Division in 3/1 and 2/2 formats – don’t want to break the best part of the tournament.
Mike Adlis, Len Dagit, John Dagit, Kevin Dagit, Dave Sacker and myself still believe in making the tournament big enough, so that we don’t have to turn anyone away. Well we had 400 teams last year, we’ll have more this year. As a result, we have to open brackets only when required. With few exceptions, all our brackets will run with 32 teams.
That is it for now. I’ll keep you posted.
